About Discovery
At Discovery, you’ll discover more than a job – you’ll find purpose, belonging, and the support to thrive. Guided by our values, we create an inclusive, rewarding environment where your voice matters, your wellbeing is prioritised, and your growth is celebrated. As a Waking Night Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in making every night safe, comfortable, and meaningful for the people we support.
Together, we’ll make a real difference – for them, and for you
Thanks to our amazing teams, Dimensions Group has been accredited as a Great Place to Work for 2026 — our eighth consecutive year of recognition.
About the role
Throughout the night you may support with personal care, promote comfort and wellbeing, offer reassurance during periods of anxiety or wakefulness, and help maintain established routines that provide predictability and security. You'll also complete accurate records, carry out any agreed household tasks, and ensure the environment remains safe and welcoming.
This role is about much more than simply being awake overnight. It's about building trust, respecting the person's dignity and independence, and making a positive difference during the hours when support can matter most. If you're someone who is calm under pressure, caring by nature, and enjoys supporting people in a person-centred way, we'd love to hear from you.
No two nights are the same. Some nights are settled, while others may require a little more support and reassurance to help the person feel safe and comfortable. Your role will be to provide a calm, consistent and reassuring presence, responding to the person's individual needs with patience, empathy and kindness.
Every night, you’ll help create a safe, calm, and comforting environment for the people we support.
Your role will include:
- Carrying out regular “keeping safe checks” to ensure everyone feels secure and comfortable.
- Maintaining a clean, hygienic space so that the environment is welcoming and safe.
- Recording important information using our easy-to-use IT systems – from support plans to health and safety logs – so we can provide the best care possible.
- Creating a therapeutic, reassuring atmosphere that promotes wellbeing throughout the night.
- Supporting people to enjoy their late evenings or nights in ways that matter to them.
- Providing personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect.
