About the role
Join our friendly team at Greenbanks as a Waking Night Support Worker, where you'll provide dedicated overnight support to three wonderful ladies with learning disabilities and diverse support needs. While many nights are calm and settled, you'll be a reassuring presence, ready to provide support whenever it's needed. From helping someone settle back to sleep to offering comfort and encouragement, you'll play an important role in creating a safe and happy home. You might even enjoy the occasional late-night Disney movie marathon with one of the women before helping her settle down for the night.
Your role will include:
- Carrying out regular “keeping safe checks” to ensure everyone feels secure and comfortable.
- Maintaining a clean, hygienic space so that the environment is welcoming and safe.
- Recording important information using our easy-to-use IT systems – from support plans to health and safety logs – so we can provide the best care possible.
- Creating a therapeutic, reassuring atmosphere that promotes wellbeing throughout the night.
- Supporting people to enjoy their late evenings or nights in ways that matter to them.
- Providing personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect.
About you
We’re looking for someone who brings compassion, reliability, and a genuine desire to make a difference. You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Care deeply about people and want to help create safe, positive nights for those who need support.
- Value inclusion and respect, treating everyone with dignity and kindness.
- Stay calm and reassuring, even when things feel challenging – your presence makes a difference.
- Enjoy working independently but also feel part of a team that shares the same purpose.
- Are comfortable using technology to keep accurate records and follow support plans.
- Can provide personal care when needed, always with empathy and understanding.
- Bring flexibility and reliability, knowing that your role is essential to someone’s wellbeing.
