About Discovery

At Discovery, we’re proud to support people across Somerset and Cornwall to live the lives they choose. When you join us, you’re not just starting a new job — you’re becoming part of a friendly, dedicated team that puts people at the heart of everything we do. You’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you’re making a real difference every single day, and in return we’ll make sure your career can be the best it can be through excellent training, development opportunities and colleague benefits.

There’s no such thing as a “typical” Support Worker here. Our teams are made up of people from all backgrounds — from school leavers who want to start a meaningful career, to those looking for a change, to experienced support workers who want to work somewhere that genuinely values the people it supports.

What connects every one of them is a shared motivation: the desire to help people live well, learn new things, and take steps towards greater independence. Our support workers don’t see what they do as “just another job” — they see it as a chance to brighten someone’s day, champion someone’s choices, and be part of moments that matter.

Thanks to our amazing teams, Dimensions Group has been accredited as a Great Place to Work for 2026 — our eighth consecutive year of recognition.

About the role

At Springview in Yeovil, you’ll be joining a friendly and dedicated team supporting six wonderful adults aged from their 30s to 70s. Life at Springview is fun, active and full of experiences. You might spend the morning visiting Nine Springs Park for walks, feeding ducks or enjoying a picnic. Other days include time in our brilliant sensory room—with its ball pit, colourful lights and musical instruments—or getting involved in plenty of cooking and baking (a big favourite in the house!). The people we support also enjoy cinema trips, swimming, concerts, theatre shows, and seasonal activities throughout the year.

You'll support a variety of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and autism. You’ll provide personalised, dignified care including full personal and incontinence care, as well as supporting people who use wheelchairs and hoists. Several individuals use picture cards, objects of reference and body language to communicate to build strong, trusting connections.

This is a truly rewarding role where every day brings opportunities to make a meaningful difference.

Shifts: You'll need to be able to work flexibility. Shifts include 7am - 2:30pm / 2:30pm - 10pm, and alternate weekends.
Having a full manual drivers licence is essential for this position.

About you

You don’t need previous experience to become a great Support Worker — what matters most is your attitude. We’re looking for people who are patient, positive, kind and genuinely motivated to help others live well. If you’re someone who listens, encourages independence, enjoys being part of an active team and isn’t afraid of getting stuck in, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll be someone who values dignity, choice and inclusion, and who brings calmness, resilience and creativity to your work — whether that’s helping with personal care, supporting communication, joining someone for a favourite activity, or enabling someone to feel safe and confident throughout their day.

Training, Development and Career Opportunities

Working for Discovery is rewarding, meaningful and offers genuine career progression. Within your first 12 weeks, we’ll fund and support you to complete the Care Certificate, which is essential for anyone working in health and social care.

You’ll have access to a wide range of online and face-to-face training, including specialist courses tailored to the needs of the people you support. Through our City & Guilds accredited qualification centre, you can work towards diplomas and recognised qualifications — and in some cases earn a financial bonus on completion.

Our Learning Connect online platform gives you access to extensive training pathways so you can continue developing your skills throughout your career with us.
