About Discovery

At Discovery, we support people across Somerset and Cornwall to live the lives they choose. Join a friendly, dedicated team where people are at the heart of everything we do, and enjoy excellent training, development and benefits.

There’s no typical Support Worker here—our teams come from all backgrounds, united by a shared desire to help people live well, learn new skills and gain independence. You’ll make a real difference every day, creating meaningful moments and supporting choice.

Thanks to our amazing teams, Dimensions Group has been accredited as a Great Place to Work for 2026 — our eighth consecutive year of recognition.

About the role

You’ll be supporting a gentleman with learning disabilities and epilepsy to live the life he chooses and enjoy the things that matter to him.

He has a great sense of humour, enjoys keeping up with current affairs and loves hearing about what’s happening in the world around him. You’ll build a genuine connection with him while supporting him to maintain his independence and achieve his personal goals, including his Slimming World journey through meal planning and healthy choices.

You’ll support him to enjoy a varied and active lifestyle, including swimming sessions twice a week, visits to his favourite local cafés and pubs for coffee and lunch, attending his day service, and relaxing with episodes of Police Interceptors and The Chase.

Day-to-day support includes helping with finances, shopping, cooking and supporting him with his personal care, including verbal prompts and assistance with washing his hair. He is independently mobile but can be unsteady at times. He uses walking sticks and a wheelchair when out and about.

The home is conveniently located just 10 minutes from the town centre and close to local amenities and Chard Reservoir.
