About the role

This is a really hands-on, rewarding role where you’ll be supporting five people (four men and one woman, aged 30s–60s) to live life their way, in a home right by Chard Reservoir. Each person is unique, with a mix of learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy and sensory processing needs. Some people communicate without words, so you’ll use tools like PECS, signing, assistive technology and objects of reference to understand and connect with them

Day to day, it’s all about being present, responsive and genuinely caring. You’ll support with full personal care (including catheter care) and help people stay safe if they’re feeling distressed, always taking a calm, understanding approach.

Life here is busy, fun and very person-led. People love getting out and about – whether that’s going for walks, swimming, bowling or popping out for snacks or fish and chips. At home, there’s lots of sensory play, ball games, time in the garden and just good banter and connection.

Shifts - 7am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm and alternate weekends.

You don't need previous experience in care, just the right values. We're looking for someone who is kind, patient, reliable, and passionate about helping others live fulfilling lives.

You'll enjoy building meaningful relationships, celebrating achievements, and supporting people to be as independent as possible. Whether you're helping someone learn a new skill, enjoy a day out, or simply have a great day, you'll bring positivity and encouragement to everything you do.

You'll be a great team player, willing to learn, and confident communicating with the people we support, their families, and colleagues. Being calm, adaptable, and able to use your initiative will help you thrive in this role.

Basic IT skills are required, as you'll use digital systems to complete training and record support notes.
