About Discovery

At Discovery, we’re proud to support people across Somerset and Cornwall to live the lives they choose. You’ll make a genuine difference every day, and we’ll support you with great training, development opportunities and a range of colleague benefits to help your career grow.

There’s no such thing as a “typical” Support Worker with us. Our teams include people from all ages and backgrounds — from those starting out in their first role, to career changers, to experienced support workers looking for an organisation that truly values the people it supports.

What unites everyone is the same motivation: helping people live well, learn new things and build greater independence. Our support workers don’t see their role as “just a job” — it’s a chance to brighten someone’s day, champion their choices and be part of moments that matter.

About the role

Willows is a homely, welcoming place where five fantastic people — four gentlemen and one lady aged between their 40s and 70s — live life in their own unique and joyful ways. As a Support Worker here, you’ll become part of their daily world, helping to make each day feel safe, meaningful and full of moments that matter.

Everyone at Willows has their own personality, routines and interests. Some communicate with few words or short phrases, while others use gestures or will gently guide you to what they need — and you’ll soon get to know these individual styles like second nature. You’ll provide personal care, use hoists when needed, and support two wheelchair. - All training provided.

Life at Willows is about enjoying simple pleasures together: coffees out, seaside trips, countryside walks, shopping days, or dinner at the local pub. There are plenty of shared passions too — from Dr Who and to James Bond films and Elvis tribute acts! Your encouragement will help people stay active, explore new places and enjoy being part of their community.

With a range of shifts, including 7am - 2;30pm, 2:30pm - 10pm, 8:30am - 3:30pm and long days - 7am - 10pm. You'll also be required to pick up one sleep In per week and work alternate weekends.

At Willows, you’ll not only make a difference — you’ll truly feel like you belong.

About you

You don’t need previous experience to become a great Support Worker — what matters most is your attitude. We’re looking for people who are patient, positive, kind and genuinely motivated to help others live well. If you’re someone who listens, encourages independence, enjoys being part of an active team and isn’t afraid of getting stuck in, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll be someone who values dignity, choice and inclusion, and who brings calmness, resilience and creativity to your work — whether that’s helping with personal care, supporting communication, joining someone for a favourite activity, or enabling someone to feel safe and confident throughout their day.
