Discovery supports adults who have learning disabilities and / or autism across Somerset and we are currently recruiting for passionate and kind Support Workers at Russet House in Yeovil.

About the role:

As a Support Worker at Russet House you’ll be assisting the people we support in leading a healthy and happy life, as independently as possible. We firmly believe in person centred support, which means that the person you support is in the driving seat of their life, and with your support will make their own decisions about what to do, what to eat and when.

Russet House is a bungalow in Yeovil with great facilities for the people that we support, including a sensory room with lots of light, sound and colour and two large sensory planters that have seasonal flowers and fruits growing in them year round. At the moment we have strawberries in there! The people we support at Russet love music and when we aren’t at concerts we get our instruments out for an at home performance instead.

Other popular activities at Russet House include arts and crafts, drives in the car and long walks in the local area. we aren’t attending sensory events in the community or getting out to do some shopping, we love a great cooked breakfast and so the house always smells fantastic in the morning. We love our music, and one of the people we support loves attending concerts and live music gigs.
