Hi,

My name is Kris and I am the Locality Manager for two supported living homes, and one domiciliary home in the Minehead area. I am currently recruiting for a person with the right skill set and values to support me with the day to day running of these homes. Across the three homes we support 11 adults with autism and/or learning disabilities to achieve their goals, aspirations and independent living skills.

As an Assistant Locality Manager you will be integral in supporting people to have the very best of lives, and supporting the staff to enable great things to happen. Whether this is participating in local club’s and events, going for a meal, meeting with friends or having a dream holiday.

A little about the role:

  • You will support the Locality Manager with the running of all three homes which will include managing rotas, supervising and supporting the team of support workers and assisting with recruitment to the teams.
  • Ensure that essential paperwork is up to date and regularly reviewed.
  • Role model best practice within the teams and coach and mentor support staff.
  • Work closely with families and other key people to ensure that the needs of the people we support are met.
  • Deputise in the absence of the Locality Manager.

What will I need?

To be considered as an Assistant Locality Manager you will need:

  • Experience of working with people with a wide range of needs - for example, autism and complex learning disabilities
  • The ability to prioritise workload, manage your own time, delegate tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the personalisation agenda and Active Support provision.
  • The personality to develop positive working relationships across Discovery – including the people we support, their families, internal colleagues and external agencies.
  • Have or be willing to work towards a Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care/Leadership and Management for Care Services.
